OldFloor is an internationally renowned brand, that has consolidated its prestige by its undisputed qual- ity of production of prestige hardwood floors.

Wood:

a precious heritage

Old Floor works a precious raw material, that represents a resource for the collective good and a safeguard of the delicate ecological balance of the planet. An ethical and social responsibility that translates into an entrepreneurial philosophy founded on the most rigorous standards of ecological sustainability. According to Greenpeace, Oldfloor is 6th in the Italian classification of products most aware of environmental impact and of the problems of reforestation.

The certification demonstrates that Oldfloor’s processes are among the most sustainable in the sector: the forests are managed combining manufacturing requirements with those of regeneration, guaranteeing the safeguarding of the planet’s lungs.

These excellent results do not represent for Oldfloor a point of arrival, but the stimulus to better its social and environmental dedication.

Wood:

a natural choice

Wood is a surface ideal for interior design, as it meets some of the most important psychological and physiological needs of man. Its tone, softening gently, naturally, is pleasing to the eye, while its warmth is inviting to the touch, and its unmistakable aroma is always pleasant to the sense of smell. It is a material that combines these properties with excellent technical performance. Its organic characteristics make it the suitable choice for all air conditioned locations, while a high level of acoustic insulation helps to create an intimate and soft ambience. A living and breathable material, wood absorbs excess moisture, releasing it only when the environment requires. But only a scrupulous process preserves and enhances all these characteristics. Throughout the process of transforming wood, Oldfloor takes care of the smallest detail, combining ancient manual techniques with the latest technology. From the careful selection of the oak logs, cut only during the most appropriate season, to the planks and then the drying, to achieving the handmade finish by skilled craftsmen, everything is checked to ensure the customer a product of high technical performance and sophisticated aesthetic effects.

The result of this long process is a quality product, which restores to the wooden floor all of the nobility and prestige of its tradition.

The hands of man

Each wooden floor branded Oldfloor preserves and recounts many stories. The history of towering oaks, carefully selected in the lush forests of Slavonia, and the history of expert hands that cut, plane, and finish each piece of flooring. The story of the skilled artisans who oil, wax, and varnish manually, thus enhancing the natural look of wood and greatly increase its durability, but also the history of master craftsmen who fashion elegant ornaments: true masterpieces of applied art.

Every vein, every flame, every shade is the result, unique and inimitable, of the layering and interweaving of these stories, a long process of transformation that combines craftsmanship and technology. This includes allowing room for irregularities and imperfections which, expertly controlled, become valued and distinctive elements within the anonymity of two dimensional industrial standardization.

A natural material, alive and warm, transformed by the skill of man into a unique, decorative solution for interior design, in the wake of one of the most fas- cinating traditions of Italian craftsmanship.

Three layered quality

The three layered structure gives the product a perfect balance, ensuring the flooring has perfect planarity.

The Oldfloor floorboard is distinguished by its unique three layers. The top layer, 4mm or 5mm thick, is a hardwood solid plank, available in a wide range of woods: oak, European steamed walnut, European pear, chestnut, European cherry, steamed acacia, European maple, European elm, Asian teak, wenge, doussiè, and iroko.
The middle layer in solid fir, and the third in solid oak or equivalent wood, give the product a perfect balance, ensuring an excellent level of stability that leaves no possibility for deformation.
The formaldehyde-free vinyl adhesive which binds the three layers, as well as ensuring high stability, allows no harmful emissions, in line with Oldfloor’s policy of ecological responsibility, that undertakes to use only natural raw materials, compatible with the most stringent regulations of environmental sustainability.
